2IMPREZS: During the 2020-2021 school year, schools were highly attentive to their classrooms’ air quality due to the Covid-19 pandemic; they required proper ventilation whilst maintaining a comfortable temperature, opening windows only when necessary (>800 ppm CO2). In the picture, 2IMPREZS pupils are measuring CO2 levels at 'Campus Kajee' primary school in Schoten, Belgium.

COM³: an online marketplace by locals for locals. COM³ makes rural
areas more attractive to live, work
and invest in. In Hüttener Berge,
Germany, COM³ helped connect
local farmers and producers to citizens via a local online store, including a delivery service. A
great step towards creating a virtual community of local producers!

CUPIDO: Cupido's objective is to develop the cultural and cultural heritage sector in rural communities. The SMEs in the shopping street in Middelburg in Zeeland combined creativity with climate adaptation measures against heat-stress. The umbrellas were a spontaneous creative action by the entrepreneurs, and attracted new visitors, publicity and social media.
Partner: Middelburg Municipality (NL)

PAV: PAV: Stimulating the uptake of shared autonomous vehicles with sustainable mobility solutions.

9
PAV is working to help cities develop sustainable spatial planning strategies that incorporate autonomous vehicles for sustainable future mobility.

IMMERSE: Implementation site in the Scheldt estuary at
Wijmeers, Wichelen (Flanders) of IMMERSE
partner Flemish Waterways plc. A side channel
was created to widen an upstream part of the
river which can reduce the incoming tidal wave
energy by spreading it over a larger cross-section
with a higher resistance. Photo: Yves Adams

IMMERSE: Intertidal habitat creation pilot on the banks of
the Tees estuary (UK) developed by IMMERSE
partner Tees River Trust. Focus on identifying
alternatives to hard engineering options, using
natural designs which are more affordable and
therefore easier to implement elsewhere.

IMMERSE: Industry and nature exist next to each other in
the Scheldt estuary (BE/NL). Sediment
management strategies are improved to support
different functions of the Scheldt estuary: safety
against flooding, accessibility for ships and nature.

IMMERSE: Ebb and flood currents bring sediment into
motion and result in the formation of mudflats
and salt marshes in the Scheldt estuary (BE/NL).
In IMMERSE sediment management strategies
are improved to maintain a balanced
distribution of sediment and to preserve
valuable and useful estuarine habitats.

IMMERSE: The extent of the estuary flood space can help to
mitigate estuarine pressures at the Elbe (e.g. by
reconnecting cut-off anabranches like Alte
Süderelbe). We explore solutions involving
stakeholders for the challenge of sustainably
and cost-effectively secure navigation while
improving the functions of the estuarine system. Photo: BAW

North Sea Wrecks: Where are the wrecks and ammunition in the North Sea? What dangers do they pose to people and the environment? What is the story behind them? We want to answer these questions. Sampling helps us to do this. Photo: Cornelia Riml
